The thermal engine life is influenced by the different interior and exterior factors. The main one is the mechanical wear. The dust particles from the atmosphere that pass through the air filters can increase the wear of kinematic couples of the internal combustion engines.The air filters should reduce the quantity of the entering dust in the engine’s combustion chamber. On the market, in addition to the OEM filters, there are several types of filters named sport filters. The actual paper compares the performances of three different models of the sport air filters from different motor vehicles. The results show the pressure drop produced by the filtering systems, filtering efficiency and the dimension analyzing of particles that pass through the studied filters. Another point of the study is the possibility of the oil being impregnated on the sport filters to reach on the sensors after them.
