Abstract
In the context of contemporary urban mobility, sometimes characterized by travel times during peak hours doubling compared to the rest of the day for the same distance, the need for fast and low-cost transportation requires a rethinking of urban mobility alternatives. One possible solution is a new approach to the architecture of individual transportation vehicles. This paper presents an automotive architecture approach for an individual means of transport characterized by a vertically positioned driving posture. Thanks to its particular architecture, the vehicle’s footprint is minimized and adapted for the use of infrastructure intended for bicycles and scooters. The unconventional architectural solution combines the advantages of a minimal footprint with practicality for short- and medium-distance urban travel. Primarily intended for daily commuting between home and the workplace, while ensuring active and passive safety conditions similar to those of a passenger car, the proposed solution offers the advantage of access to infrastructure dedicated to bicycles and scooters, thereby avoiding traffic congestion and consequently reducing travel time.
