Analysis of the mechanical behavior of lattice structures with circular cross-section manufactured by 3D printing
Last modified: 2026-04-28
Abstract
This study analyzes the mechanical behavior of BCC-type lattice structures with circular cross-section struts fabricated by 3D printing. The research focuses on the design, manufacturing, and experimental compression testing of the structures. The obtained results are compared with those of similar lattice structures featuring square cross-sections. Key mechanical parameters, including load- capacity and yield stress are evaluated, along with the influence of manufacturing-related factors. The research is synthesized to identify an optimal lattice configuration suitable for applications in polymer-based automotive components.
