Abstract
This paper presents a project management approach for optimizing the gripping system of the Kinova collaborative robot through the integration of computer-aided design and project planning techniques. The study focuses on improving the gripping system of the Kinova Robot by redesigning the contact area of the gripper in order to increase stability and adaptability to various part geometries. The emphasis is placed on the design, in CATIA V5, of elastic sleeves integrated onto the existing jaws, transforming rigid contact into an adaptive one. The 3D modeling process enables geometric optimization, compatibility verification, and integration within the robotic assembly. The proposed solutions are virtually validated and prepared for rapid prototyping. In parallel, the project activities are planned, scheduled, and monitored using Primavera P6. The software is employed to define project stages, allocate resources, establish task dependencies, estimate execution durations, and monitor project progress, programs, and portfolios. The integration of engineering design and project management tools contributes to a structured development process and supports the efficient implementation of the proposed optimization solution.
