For every vehicle type, the use case scenarios are specific to customer requirements and available infrastructure.  Both factors  can influence reliability, energetic and ecological performances. One of the biggest challenges in model-based development is represented by the need of data for simulation driven by customer specific usage. A particular gap is the lack of available data for driving cycle development in public transportation. This paper aims to record and create representative driving cycles for suburban routes in Bucharest metropolitan area. Moreover, it is used to analyze the energy consumption with respect to technical definition of the bus and to propose a driving strategy for maximizing energy efficiency.
