Abstract

This paper proposes an analysis through mathematical modelling and simulation using the Simulink environment. The analysis refers to the dynamic and energetic performances of a commercial electric vehicle with a special architecture through the possibility of scaling the HV battery for specific usage, according to market requirements and demand. To validate the simulation model a series of experimental measurements were performed to determine the state of charge and energy consumption in real driving conditions. The main aspect of interest that the authors wish to emphasize is how certain important parameters are influenced in the economy of an electric vehicle intended for the transport of goods through the possibility of scaling the HV battery by increasing its capacity. It will also be studied how the increase of vehicle weight with the increase in the number of batteries can influence the performances mentioned in the paper.
