Abstract

This article addresses the problem of preventing thermal runaway in the high-voltage battery of an electric or hybrid vehicle. A new battery cell temperature monitoring system is described. The operation of the proposed system is examined using as an example a real battery module of a Tesla Model S electric vehicle. To calculate the operating modes of the battery cell temperature monitoring system model, the parameters of electrical and electronic components from well-known, commercially available companies were selected. An algorithm for the system operation is developed. A configuration configuration is proposed for software development for an electrochemical battery module cell monitoring system, for a model study of the effectiveness of the proposed system in detecting overheated cells in the module, and for optimizing the monitoring system components. The proposed stand configuration can be used to study the operation of electrochemical batteries, as well as for laboratory work in the educational process at the Technical University of the Republic of Moldova and the Polytechnic College.
