Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

The submission will have two phases:

1 - submission of an extended abstract

2 - submission of the final paper.

Both the abstract and the final paper will be peer-reviewed.

1 - Submitting the abstract

The abstract should be submitted online, using the online submission system. Additional files may be uploaded (using also the online submission system), but are not mandatory. There are no formatting instruction for the abstract, since it is simple text. The length of the abstract should be within 300 and 500 words.

Based on the abstract, the scientiffic committee will decide to invite the author to submit the final paper, or not.

 

2 - Submitting the final paper

The accepted format is Microsoft Word (doc or docx).

The proceeding of ESFA 2023 will be published with IOP Publishing Ltd, UK.

For better information on the papers template, authors can access articles already published in the IOP Conference Series - Materials Science and Engineering here: https://iopscience.iop.org/journal/1757-899X

Only papers for the „Student section" will have included immediately after the name, affiliation and email address of the authors a line with the content: „First and Last Name - Professor Coordinator:” (of the coordinating professor of the group of authors / author). This row will be preceded and followed by an empty line and will have the same position, font and size as the Abstract.

Preferred length of paper: max 8 pages (even number).

Language: English.

3 - Cumulative conditions for the publication of works in the IOP volume:

In order to be published in the IOP volume, the following cumulative conditions must be met:
1) The paper must be written according to IOP templates and conditions;
2) The paper must be recommended by the Scientific Committee (after reviews) for publication in the IOP volume;
3) The „SIAR Copyright Transfer Form" document (completed, signed and dated) is uploaded to the congress platform with the final paper;
4) Publication fees are paid on time;
5) The paper is presented in a section of the congress.

The works published in the IOP volume will go through the specific procedure for Web of Science indexing.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another conference for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Director).
  2. The submission file is inMicrosoft Word document file format.
  3. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Conference.
  4. Please fill „The SIAR Copyright Transfer Form”! and upload it as supplementary file, together with the final paper.

Authors who submit to this conference agree to the following terms:
a) Authors retain copyright over their work, while allowing the conference to place this unpublished work under a Creative Commons Attribution License, which allows others to freely access, use, and share the work, with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and its initial presentation at this conference.
b) Authors are able to waive the terms of the CC license and enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution and subsequent publication of this work (e.g., publish a revised version in a journal, post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial presentation at this conference.
