Proceedings and Indexing

For publication, the authors of the reviewed and accepted papers presented orally at CAR2026 may choose one of the following three possibilities:

1. publication in an MDPI Topic dedicated to CAR2026: review-ready manuscripts must be submitted via both the CAR2026 platform and the MDPI platform, selecting one of the journals involved in our MDPI Topic and then the special issue dedicated to CAR2026: Mobility Engineering and Sustainability. First-time users must register before submitting.

Authors should also submit through the CAR2026 platform so that the MDPI submissions can be tracked more easily.

Authors interested in submitting papers to this MDPI Topic dedicated to CAR2026 should prepare their manuscripts by following the submission guidelines provided on the website of their chosen journal from this MDPI Topic.

Peer Review: MDPI is responsible for managing the peer review process.

Selected papers will benefit from a minimum 20% discount on the Article Processing Charge (APC).

The corresponding APC is fully supported by the authors.
2. in a volume published online with Journal of Physics: Conference Series - IOPscience.

No other payment (beside the usual registration fee) is needed.

Authors interested in submitting papers to JPCS should prepare their manuscripts by following the submission guidelines provided HERE.

Peer Review : The Scientific Committee of CAR2026 is responsible for managing the peer review process.

3. in a volume published online with Scientific Bulletin (BUP), Automotive Engineering series - National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest.

No other payment (beside the usual registration fee) is needed.

Authors interested in submitting papers to BUP should prepare their manuscripts by following the submission guidelines provided HERE.

Peer Review : The Scientific Committee of CAR2026 is responsible for managing the peer review process.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL MANUSCRIPTS WILL BE THOROUGHLY EVALUATED THROUGH A SINGLE-BLIND PEER-REVIEW PROCESS.

Concerning the indexation:

1. all the MDPI open-access journals from this MDPI Topic have Clarivate - Web of Science impact factors and are also indexed in Scopus (amongst other databases and archives)
2. according to https://publishingsupport.iopscience.iop.org/questions/proceedings-are-abstracted-in/, the resulting proceeding will be sent to be abstracted and indexed in the following worldwide database (amongst others):
3. according to https://www.automotive.upit.ro/abstracting_and_indexing.html, the CAR2026 papers to be published in the Scientific Bulletin (BUP), Automotive Engineering series  will receive a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) from CrossRef and they will be included in Index Copernicus international database.

Key points about CrossRef DOIs:

  • Purpose: They provide a stable, clickable link to digital objects (articles, books, data), ensuring links remain functional over time; thus, it is also possible to track citations
  • Metadata: Each DOI is linked to rich metadata, including authors, funding, and titles
  • Lookup Tool: Anyone can use the Crossref Metadata Search to find DOIs for existing publications

NOTA BENE: If a manuscript is submitted to the MDPI Topic and after the reviewing process is not accepted, then it will be automatically directed to the second path: publication online in Journal of Physics: Conference Series - IOPscience. The reviewing reports provided by MDPI will be automatically directed to the Scientific Committee, which will decide if further review is needed. Then, if it’ll be rejected again, a final decision will be made whether to be published or not with Scientific Bulletin (BUP), Automotive Engineering series - National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest. If not, the paper will be definitively rejected.
